The town of Ophir beneath the peaks of the San Juan Mountains

The name

Why Ophir

Ophir was the legendary land of gold. Miners carried the name into the San Juans and gave it to a town and a high pass between the peaks. They came for riches and found something better: country that stops you in your tracks. We named our homes for that feeling.
