I've lived in Durango for twenty-three years. I founded Durango Bike Project, a coffee and bike shop, and spent years sending visitors to the right trail, the right river and the right table.
Ophir Stays is that same work, done properly: a small number of beautiful homes, cared for by people who live here, with every guest's trip planned by someone who knows this place. When you call, you get me.

The name
Why Ophir
Ophir was the legendary land of gold. Miners carried the name into the San Juans and gave it to a town and a high pass between the peaks. They came looking for riches and found something better. We named our homes for that feeling.
